SPECIAL NEEDS FOR LOCAL FAMILIES
If you have the ability to help with any of these VERY important needs for a few of our local families - please let us know. The power of "community" can often make the impossible possible!
Two different families need beds. One needs a daybed and one needs either a full or queen size bed. If you can help contact us at email@example.com.
With our computer refurbishing program, we could use a few printers. If you have a printer that works fine but you no longer need, let us know. It can’t be more than 4 years old, and must use the type of ink that can be purchased in a store (not just online). No laser printers.
We also need laptops!!!! PLEASE if you have a laptop that you think will still work well but you need to upgrade - let us know and we'll look at the old laptop! Thanks!
We also need computer mice - for desktops or laptops. We prefer the type that are plugged in with USB ports as opposed to wireless mice that need continual battery replacements! If you have any extra mice - let us know!
If you can help out with anything requested in the section above - please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. THANKS!
Celebrating 10 Years ...
With Some Awesome Community Partners
Monday, September 28, 2015
Our 10th anniversary party was a great success. Thanks to all who came and enjoyed the friendships! It was fun to walk down memory lane and celebrate all the accomplishments and all those who have supported T&E Care throughout these past ten years. Special thanks to all those who could not attend but sent in such wonderful notes of congratulations.
Surrey was a great host - the location was perfect for the event. And thanks again to Wegmans, Whole Foods, Wawa, Panera, and Acme for all the delicious food. And we loved the balloon decorations from the Party Store of Berwyn. Finally, a shout out as well to Jessica Mintz for baking extra cookies - they were DELICIOUS!! Our goal in planning this event was to hold a party that didn't cost us anything, so our funds could continue to help the families that need it. And we were successful thanks to these wonderful sponsors!!
Thanks also to Representatives Duane Milne and Warren Kampf, Senator Andy Dinniman, and County Commissioners Michelle Kichline, Kathi Cozzone, and Terence Farrell for making the effort to join us for this event. Each presented us with Citations of Congratulations - we were very proud to accept them on behalf of all those in the community that have worked so hard these past 10 years!
Last but never least, thanks to Laura Pratt, Danyll Lockett and Carol Tompkins for their extra efforts in helping to get this party ready for the big night!
T&E Care and Amazon Smile T&E Care is now part of the Amazon Smile Foundation program. You might have shopped on Amazon.com and seen a notice to "click here" for a portion of your bill to go to a charity of your choice. This is just like the old Genuardi program that some of you might remember. You pay $xxx for a product. 0.5% of that price then goes to your designated charity. If you didn't designate a charity, Amazon would just keep the 0.5%. Your cost does NOT increase if you designate a charity!
So.... if you are an online shopper and Amazon is one of your go-to sites, please consider naming T&E Care as your charity of choice. It's easy to do but you need to register in advance (one time only):
Be sure you are signed into your own Amazon account.
Name your charity of choice: Tredyffrin & Easttown Care
That's it! It takes 30 seconds to do! You only need to name us once, and then we are the named site from then on. From then on always go to www.smile.amazon.com to start your shopping (instead of amazon.com) and it will always register this charity. (If you forget you'll get a notice reminding you when you go to amazon.com!)
This type of donation can really add up if lots of people sign up! Many thanks for your support!

Car Wash for T&E Care
Spa Car Wash in Berwyn is having a fundraiser for T&E Care! For any "Real Works Wash" (normally $24.99), you will get a $3 saving PLUS $5 will be donated to T&E Care. This fundraiser is good for a whole year - and you can use it as many times as you want (you just need to download multiple coupons). So if you get your car washed anyway - you can save money and donate money all at one time! Thanks to Spa Car Wash for being a partner with us! (You can ignore the deadline on the coupon.)

Making a donation to T&E Care in lieu of a gift
Are you struggling to think of the perfect gift for the person on your list who has everything? Consider making a donation to T&E Care in his/her name? This option is always available - at the holidays or anytime of year. Information on making donations to honor others can be found on our donations page. A letter will be sent to your recipient alerting them of your kind donation (or we can send a card to you for you to wrap and give yourself).
Thanks for considering this option.
Many THANKS for the recent donations ....
October 2015 - Thanks to SEI for donating 3 laptops and 10 mice to our refurbishing program! These will be well used soon!
October 2015 - Thanks to Community Backstop for partnering with us to help with the purchase of a special computer for a local young lady who has significant vision issues. Great partnership for sure!
September 2015 - A huge thanks to Blank Rome LLP for donating 20 computers to us for our refurbishing program. We've already started to hand some out - and the smiles ... are well worth the effort!
September 2015 - Thanks to Surrey for hosting our 10th Anniversary Celebration - the location was perfect for the event. Thanks to Wegmans, Whole Foods, Wawa, Panera, and Acme for all the delicious food. And we loved the balloon decorations from the Party Store of Berwyn.
September 2015 - Thanks to Wawa for their recent foundation donation towards our school lunch program.
August 2015 - Thanks to the Glen Valley Garden Club for their wonderful donation to our general fund!
August 2015 - Thanks to those local businesses and organizations that helped out with donations and support of our School Supply Drive: Johnson Matthey, Mom's Club of T/E, RE/MAX Main Line Charitable Foundation, FLITE, USLI-Care2Fund, Doctor's Best (Berwyn), 30 Main, Panera Bread (Wayne), Wegman's (KofP and Malvern), Tredyffrin Library, Play It Again Sports, Long & Foser Real Estate, and the New Eagle PTO. And hats off to the amazing committee for this drive: Eileen Ryle, Charu Gandhi, Barbara McConnell, Rita Gosnear and Amy Ard. And thanks to Conestoga High School and the district custodians who help with our sorting/delivery plans.
July 2015 - Thanks to all the camps that offered scholarships to local kids through the T&E Care camp assistance program. Those camps were run by: TEYSA, Tredyffrin Township, Sky High Basketball, Center on Central, Great Valley Nature Center, Herb McGee Basketball Camp, and Future Stars. Discounts were also offered from HomeCooked and 1st & Goal. With 86 local students receiving camp assistance, and over $16,000 spent on the program, these scholarships (valued at over $2700) were really important to our ability to help more kids. Thanks to Charu Gandhi, Story Picard, Allyson Hotz and Kristin Becket for a job well done coordinating all these folks and camps. Thanks to Cindy Gilroy for coordinating the drivers, and to Lisa McNichol, Fred Stevens, and Toni Linder for doing the driving as needed. A real community effort!
July 2015 - Thanks to Our Lady Of Assumption for making a very generous donation to T&E Care. We are excited to partner with this church!
June 2015 - Through a generous grant from PNC Bank, we have been helping a number of local families cover medical bills this past year. Included have been some significant dental bills. The kids can go to the T/E Children’s Dental Clinic, but the adults often have no dental insurance and just put off this work. Bernie Logan, an Auxiliary Board member, is a local dentist. She has been a HUGE help in organizing many of these visits. Many of the local dentists have bent over backward to help out these folks. These dentists included: Dr. Samia Hardan, Dr. Cathy Mauro, Dr. James Godorecci, Dr. Ericka Klein, Dr. Greta Richter and Dr. Gary Riggs, Dr. Lorran Tokpa, Dr. Anna Rossis, and the Family Dental Group in West Chester. Thanks to all!
As the result of the great Wellness Festival held in May, the Berwyn Devon Business & Professional Associationdonated $2000 to T&E Care at the recent annual dinner. We are so proud to get this recognition from this important local business association.
June 2015 - The Re/Max Main Line Charitable Foundation made a terrific donation through the Chester County Community Foundation that will be used to purchase gift cards for our upcoming School Supply Drive. Thanks for this continued partnership!
