We still need some volunteers on sorting day, Thursday, July 30, at Conestoga High School.
If you don't expect to be around in July and/or can't do a lot of "stuff" shopping - we can always use donations of cash (we'll buy items we don't get in donations), as well as lots and lots of gift cards. We give families gift cards to help with some last minute supply purchases, or some clothes, shoes, or food. We try to give $25 per student - which means over $5500! Do the math! Gift cards in increments of $25 are best - and our favorite stores are: Walmart, Target, Wegmans, Acme, Trader Joes, Old Navy, TJ Maxx, Famous Footwear, and Staples.
Donations of cash and gift cards can be sent now if you want. That helps us start our planning in advance. They can be mailed to T&E Care, PO Box 2111, Southeastern, PA 19399. Any offers to help or questions should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks for your continued support!!!
TD Bank - Bring Change
And Help Local College Students
When a student heads to college - he can get scholarships, grants, and loans to cover the costs of tuition, room, and board. But those books - wow are they expensive! It can be so hard to get the funds to cover them. We've actually worked with kids who dropped out of school because they couldn't afford the books!
The Devon branch of TD Bank is running a one-day fundraiser to help us cover the costs of the books for a number of the students we support. On Friday, August 7, from 8:30am-4:00pm everyone is encouraged to gather up all your lose change and take it to the branch and have it counted at the Penny Arcade. TD Bank will match up to $2000 all the change it counts that day. You don't need to have an account at TD Bank to stop in this day. You can keep your change (or donate it to T&E Care if you want to really help us grow the fund!).
Please pass the word - invite your friends and family to stop by and help us CHANGE the future for these special students!

SPECIAL NEEDS FOR LOCAL FAMILIES
If you have the ability to help with any of these VERY important needs for a few of our local families - please let us know. The power of "community" can often make the impossible possible!
Kids or Baby Items:
Please contact us if you can help with any of these:

Appliances/Furniture: Please contact us if you can help with any of these:
A mom and 2 ES age kids are moving and need some kitchen items. The ONLY items requested are: pots/pans, cooking utensils (like spatulas, spoons), casserole-type pans, and glassware (including some plastic glasses for the kids). (We've confirmed that no other items are currently needed.)
With our computer refurbishing program, we could use a few printers. If you have a printer that works fine but you no longer need, let us know. It can’t be more than 4 years old, and must use the type of ink that can be purchased in a store (not just online). No laser printers.

If you can help out with anything requested in the section above - please email us at email@example.com. THANKS!
3rd Annual Berwyn Devon Wellness Festival
Another Great Success
May 17, 2015 was a great day in Berwyn! The Wellness Festival drew over a thousand folks with lots of great kids games and activities. Starting at the corner of Old Lancaster Rd. and Rt. 30 in Berwyn (across from Handel's Ice Cream) and up Old Lancaster to the Bagel Factory you could see the excitement with rock climbing, zumba, hula hoops, a scavenger hunt, a moon bounce and lots of other fun and healthy activities and of course, great food! Thanks to Jump Dautrich, Laura Bartholomew, and Kirk Gorman for taking the time to man the booth for T&E Care! WE hope you stopped by.
T&E Care, Damieon Counseling Center, The Berwyn Veteran's Association, and the TE Children's Dental Clinic are all recipients of any money raised during the event, presented by the Berwyn Devon Business & Professional Association. We are proud to be part of this important group of non-profits in our community! The check presentations were made at the annual BDBPA dinner held on June 10, 2015. See pictures below. Congratulations to our own Bernie Logan for being named Citizen of the Year by the BDBPA, as a result of her work with the Children's Dental Clinic. We're very proud of Bernie!
T&E Care members Jodi Monster, Bernie Logan, Kirk and Sandi Gorman thank Stacey Ballard, BDBPA President, for the $2000 donation.
Bernie Logan, T&E Care Auxiliary Board member, is named Citizen of the Year through her work at the Children's Dental Clinic.
T&E Care and Amazon Smile T&E Care is now part of the Amazon Smile Foundation program. You might have shopped on Amazon.com and seen a notice to "click here" for a portion of your bill to go to a charity of your choice. This is just like the old Genuardi program that some of you might remember. You pay $xxx for a product. 0.5% of that price then goes to your designated charity. If you didn't designate a charity, Amazon would just keep the 0.5%. Your cost does NOT increase if you designate a charity!
So.... if you are an online shopper and Amazon is one of your go-to sites, please consider naming T&E Care as your charity of choice. It's easy to do but you need to register in advance (one time only):
Be sure you are signed into your own Amazon account.
Name your charity of choice: Tredyffrin & Easttown Care
That's it! It takes 30 seconds to do! You only need to name us once, and then we are the named site from then on. From then on always go to www.smile.amazon.com to start your shopping (instead of amazon.com) and it will always register this charity. (If you forget you'll get a notice reminding you when you go to amazon.com!)
This type of donation can really add up if lots of people sign up! Many thanks for your support!

Car Wash for T&E Care
Spa Car Wash in Berwyn is having a fundraiser for T&E Care! For any "Real Works Wash" (normally $24.99), you will get a $3 saving PLUS $5 will be donated to T&E Care. This fundraiser is good for a whole year - and you can use it as many times as you want (you just need to download multiple coupons). So if you get your car washed anyway - you can save money and donate money all at one time! Thanks to Spa Car Wash for being a partner with us! (You can ignore the deadline on the coupon.)

Making a donation to T&E Care in lieu of a gift
Are you struggling to think of the perfect gift for the person on your list who has everything? Consider making a donation to T&E Care in his/her name? This option is always available - at the holidays or anytime of year. Information on making donations to honor others can be found on our donations page. A letter will be sent to your recipient alerting them of your kind donation (or we can send a card to you for you to wrap and give yourself).
Thanks for considering this option.
Many THANKS for the recent donations ....
July 2015 - Thanks to all the camps that offered scholarships to local kids through the T&E Care camp assistance program. Those camps were run by: TEYSA, Tredyffrin Township, Sky High Basketball, Center on Central, Great Valley Nature Center, Herb McGee Basketball Camp, and Future Stars. Discounts were also offered from HomeCooked and 1st & Goal. With 86 local students receiving camp assistance, and over $16,000 spent on the program, these scholarships were really important to our ability to help more kids.
July 2015 - Thanks to Our Lady Of Assumption for making a very generous donation to T&E Care. We are excited to partner with this church!
June 2015 - Through a generous grant from PNC Bank, we have been helping a number of local families cover medical bills this past year. Included have been some significant dental bills. The kids can go to the T/E Children’s Dental Clinic, but the adults often have no dental insurance and just put off this work. Bernie Logan, an Auxiliary Board member, is a local dentist. She has been a HUGE help in organizing many of these visits. Many of the local dentists have bent over backward to help out these folks. These dentists included: Dr. Samia Hardan, Dr. Cathy Mauro, Dr. James Godorecci, Dr. Ericka Klein, Dr. Greta Richter and Dr. Gary Riggs, Dr. Lorran Tokpa, Dr. Anna Rossis, and the Family Dental Group in West Chester. Thanks to all!
As the result of the great Wellness Festival held in May, the Berwyn Devon Business & Professional Associationdonated $2000 to T&E Care at the recent annual dinner. We are so proud to get this recognition from this important local business association.
June 2015 - The Re/Max Main Line Charitable Foundation made a terrific donation through the Chester County Community Foundation that will be used to purchase gift cards for our upcoming School Supply Drive. Thanks for this continued partnership!

May 2015 - A special surprise donation came from St. Luke Church recently - what a nice treat!
May 2015 - Thanks to Community Backstop for partnering with us to help a local adult who needed a "new" car. We couldn't have helped her without their help!

April 2015 - Thanks to St. Matthews United Methodist Church for hosting the annual Grab Bag! Special thanks as well to all the TESD schools, Play It Again Sports, Doctor's Best Immediate Care, Club La Maison, and the Tredyffrin Library for hosting collections. Donations were offered to us from Whole Foods, Starbucks, Paoli Hardware, Wayne Sporting Goods, Plato's Closet, and the Valley Forge Running Company. The Saturday Club and TEMPO loaned us their clothing racks. Many other groups and individuals offered support as well - it's truly a group effort!
April 2015 - A special thanks to St. John's Presbyterian Church in Devon for sending us a donation. These church partnerships are very important to the mission of T&E Care.
April 2015 - Thanks again to Whole Foods in Devon for selecting T&E Care for their Nickles for Nonprofits campaign this past winter. We have received a check for almost $1000 through this program. It's amazing how those nickles can add up!!!
March 2015 - Many many thanks to the Baptist Church of the Great Valley and the United Church of Christ at Valley Forge for running the Alternative Gift Market before the holidays with donations coming to T&E Care. It was amazing!
February 2015 - Much thanks to Berwyn United Methodist Church for their recent donation!
