We are always thankful for everyone’s support – but we wanted to let you know that the families we help are thankful as well!  This is a note we received after we helped a family.  We get these types of notes all the time! They are meant for ALL OF YOU!!! CLICK HERE to see more.

I would like to take a moment and thank each and every one of you for your care and help at a time of struggle.  I felt that I needed to send this email to say Thank You  and if at all I can do anything I will surely try.  Once again thank-you for getting me through this tough time. Me and my children.  May, 2009

  • The weekend of January 22/23  a large group of community members came together to help out some local families in need.  We had 3 different people offering furniture (one was a significant amount!), and 9 different families needing furniture.  We were able to find 8 different folks with trucks wiling to help move the furniture, and a number of the members and the coach of the CHS Ice Hockey Team plus a few other CHS students offered their muscles – and we were able to make the move much quicker than anyone thought.  Many many thanks to all those who helped out – the families receiving the furniture were THRILLED and very thankful for our help.    Three notes that we received stated:
    • THANK YOU T & E cares!  I cannot thank you enough for the perpetual kindness that you show towards my family and me.  My entire experience w/ T & E cares has been both humbling and amazing.  Not only are you responsive to my concerns, but proactive as well.
    • In response to today, my children said “TE cares and these guys ‘Rock’!”   Although my husband was at work when the gentlemen came to our home, I know we both concur with our children’s sentiment.  Please again thank your “moving gentlemen” for their helpfulness and pleasant attitude.  Not only did they remove our broken floor model TV, but a couple of the younger gentlemen complimented my children on their bunkbeds (they have a homemade tent over their bed for fun).  That made my children smile, and feel good. Again, we sincerely thank you.  Please consider how we can be helpful…now or later.  I continue to pray Gods fullest blessings on you, and yours.  Have a great night, and a wonderful week!
    • I really appreciate your help and generosity by giving us a bookcase and the dresser, in cold day you delivering to the community what they need… IT IS ACT OF LOVE AND BLESSING FROM GOD – THANK YOU VERY MUCH – WITH ALL MY RESPECTS

THANKS 2010

THANKS 2009

  • 7/13/09 – Many many thanks to members of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Devon for donating food to fill about 100 bags of groceries (especially lunch items) to the local REACT pantry.  This gesture was done in response to the fact that (during the school year) so many kids get free lunch through the federal free/reduced lunch program but during the summer that program is not in existence.  With families needing to buy additional lunch items – their food bills significantly increase.  Thanks to Sean Moir and Carol Reilly for spearheading this effort.
  • 7/12/09 – We recently asked for a number of furniture and clothing items for numerous families needing assistance.  On July 11 – about 8 people gave up their Saturday morning and drove around to dozens of families who offered a couch here, a chair there…. and then delivered the items to the families.  What a great example of coming together to get something positive done!    One mom that received our help sent this email of thanks that is truly from her heart: Please pass this along to all that have helped and donated their time and items to us. We are extremely appreciative for all that everyone has done for us. You are truly God’s angels. You make me us better people. I find myself trying to pass along the kindness to others by doing simple acts of kindness. It is becoming so natural now. I see it in how I act towards my neighbors and co workers I only hope one day I can be as giving of myself to others, as you have been to us. My family truly thanks you. It is a blessing to have you all in our lives. God bless you all.

  • 6/21/09 – Thanks to Acme for a $1000 donation for the local REACT food pantry.  Instead of giving us permission to run a food drive outside the local stores this summer, they made this donation.  This will be a huge help to avoid the frequent summer slow-down in food donations at the food pantry.

  • 1/31/09 – Special thanks to Art Roman of The Kitchen Workshop (Paoli) and Shawn Maloney of Panera Bread (Gateway Shopping Center) for making our event today a success.  Art provided the ingredients for delicious soup, and Shawn brought over bread bowls for the soup.  Additionally Shawn brought a check for T&E Care for over $2500, collected at the restaurant since it opened in 2008.  Thanks to all those community members who joined us on this special day.
  • 1/9/09 – Special thanks to St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church in Devon for including T&E Care in their list of options for their Christmas 2008 “Gifts of Hope” program.  People were able to make donations directly to various organizations listed in the church’s program in lieu of normal holiday gifts, we we really appreciated the support of those who made donations to T&E Care!  What a wonderful gesture at these special times.

  • 12/6/08 – Many thanks to Alan Epps of Epps Plumbing and Heating in Wayne.  We learned of a family with a plumbing issue and Alan was at the house within a day, made the repair, and never charged the family a dime.  The leak caused the family’s water bill to skyrocket beyond their ability to pay – so this repair is a HUGE help to this family.  Alan’s generosity can not be thanked enough! (Get a direct link to his business on our Grants/Supporters page)

  • 11/24/08 – Many thanks to C&J Automotive in Berwyn for giving an incredible rate to fix the car of a family who was struggling with finances.  In order to get over the financial problems the mom is trying to get a better job.  To get to interviews she needed her car, and it suddenly made some horrible noises.  C&J Automotive jumped in and fixed it fast and reasonably.

They are enjoying the chance to sit outside when they can, or cool inside when it’s hot out! And the smiles on the face of the girl getting those clothes – priceless! She can now go to camp (mom got a free scholarship!) and actually not stand out because all she had were old junky clothes.

The day the car broke down we got the call offering a “new” car to us – another one of our community angels for sure!
  • 4/12/08 – Wow – the community really stepped up and the stores in Paoli were awesome. This event was totally free for us – Panera Bread covered all costs related to this dinner as their way to give their staff practice before their official opening on April 7. The staff was so nice, and the food was delicious. Thanks to the over 200 people who attended as well. AND special thanks to those in attendance for their very generous donations (over $1200) that will be given to families effected by the recent apartment fire in Malvern. They now have a set of bunk beds, a double bed, lots of bedding, a desk and chair, a crib and high chair for the baby, a kitchen table and chairs, dishes and glasses, lamps, and all sorts of other items! Thanks to those who helped drive and deliver items as well. What a difference a day makes!
  • 1/2/08 – Thanks to those who helped out with last minute donations to the holiday drive, and to those who offered twin mattresses to help out families in need!

THANKS 2007

  • 12/19/07 – Many thanks to the many elves that came to Barnes and Noble to help wrap presents there, and to help spread the word about T&E Care. We received over $400 in donations during our day there, and handed out tons of brochures. We really appreciate all the help offered by those in the community!
  • 12/15/07 – Thanks to all who have responded to the recent holiday request drive. The response from the local community was overwhelming. Twenty-two local families will have much brighter holidays because of YOU. Thanks for your support!!!!!
  • 12/3/07 – Thanks to those who have recently donated some computers. We still have some families who could use a computer, but our list if getting shorter! Thanks also to some CHS students and some local community members who are helping to strip the computers and get them ready for the new families.
  • 11/25/07 – Thanks to those who offered a washer and small refrigerator for some local families. These are VERY important items for the families. Thanks so much!
  • 11/11/07 – Thanks to all who helped provide items for the family moving here from a shelter. You should see the house – it looks fantastic! Furniture and household goods came from all over the community – but it blended together and turned this small house into a warm home. We got a computer as well to help the kids with school work. With this strong start, the family has hopes for a good future.
  • 10/17/07 – Thanks to those community members who were able to step up quickly to offer a crib and playpen to a local family in need. We were given just a fews days notice of this need due to an illness on the part of the child – and you responded (with multiple offers!) Super job!
  • 9/10/07 – Thanks to TEYSA for offering scholarships to some local kids who needed assistance in order to participate in soccer this fall. While soccer may seem like a luxury – being part of a team can be very important to a child whose family is struggling in other ways. TEYSA continues to be a wonderful organization for this community.
  • 9/4/07 – Thanks to TV Guide for donating a dozen computers that were distributed to local families with kids in the schools. These are critical to helping the kids complete required homework assignments.
  • 8/21/07 – MANY thanks to all those who donated school supplies, clothing, cash, and gift cards to the school supply/1st day outfit drive. We were able to totally fill the school supply list for all 31 local kids, and all those who requested new outfits either got a donation of clothes or gift cards. Some got both! We had over $1000 worth of gift cards for all sorts of local stores to distribute to about 25 kids (about $40/student). Imagine how much better they will feel heading off that first day with all their supplies and a new shirt and/or outfit! It could make a difference for their whole school year! Never think a donation of a $25 gift card is too small – they ALL add up!
  • 8/21/07 – Special thanks to Famous Footwear for donating a $50 gift card to one of our families. What a treat for one family to be able to get a new pair of shoes to start the school year!
  • 8/15/07 – Thanks also for the gas dryer for one of our families – we were glad to be able to help out that family!
  • 8/11/07 – Many thanks to Heather and her friends and family for baking all the yummy treats, and selling them at the Paoli Acme to raise money for T&E Care! The bake sale was very successful! The money will be used to help fill in holes on “needs list” for the School Supply/1st Day Outfit Drive. And the sale itself was a great way to get the word out to more of our neighbors about T&E Care.
  • 8/2/07 – Thanks to Allstate for the generous grant to T&E Care, and to Joe Tucker, Chesterbrook Allstate agent, for facilitating the grant. The money will be put to good use in the days ahead!
  • 7/19/07 – Thanks for the generous donations of food and gift cards recently received to help a family in need. What a difference a day makes when you have food to eat!
  • 6/28/07 – Thanks for the 5 air conditioners, a fan, and bedroom furniture and bedding , some food, and some general donations that were recently given to T&E Care, as a result of the recent email. The local families you supported are incredibly thankful, and a lot more comfortable!
  • 6/1/07 – Thanks so much for the recent donations to help out local families – especially some computers and a large TV – the families REALLY appreciate your support!
  • 1/07 – Many thanks to those who have generously made donations to T&E Care. In the past few months we have used funds to provide support in the form of a few rent subsidies, we bought grocery gift cards for a family needing food, we paid for a parenting class for a mom, we paid for the carpet and some of the renovations in the “new” home for the family of 8 (discussed below) and we provided the funds needed for one mom to start a business from home so she could be with her kids. We could not offer this help without your support! YOUR neighbors are very grateful!!!!
  • 5/1/07 – An item here, an item there…. a refrigerator was donated to a family, a computer to another family, a couch and chairs to another family….. thanks for answering the calls for help when we get them!
  • 4/20/07 – Many thanks to the Saturday Club and the Tiffany-Kistler Foundation for awarding us a grants that we used in helping some local families. These grants were incredibly important sources of funding for some very needy situations. We are very thankful for them.
  • 4/15/07 – Many thanks to all those who offered items for the family of 8 moving to a “new” home in April. The move went exceptionally well – the home renovations were completed just in time for the furniture to be moved in. Thanks to those drivers who went around and collected items, and to those who made so many donations. Donations included a number of beds, a couch, living room chairs, 2 TVs, a dining room table and chairs and a hutch, appliances, end tables, night stands, a bookcase, TEN bedroom dressers, a desk, lamps, kitchen items, bedroom items, bathroom items, baby items, and much more. It continues to amaze us how well a house can come together with donations from so many different people. Needless to say, the family was overwhelmed and said thanks many many times!

The mission of T&E Care is to maintain a network of people providing short-term financial and other material assistance to persons in need who live in and around the Tredyffrin and Easttown township areas.
