Top employers in 2018

America’s best employer for 2018 is a company that employs thousands of Americans but is headquartered in France, according to Forbes’ annual rankings of the best employers in the country. The rankings of America’s best large employers placed tire manufacturer Michelin at the top of the list while the grocery chain Trader Joe’s took the No. 2 spot and Google came in at No. 3.

Forbes’ rankings were released on Tuesday, May 1, and include 500 companies that have more than 5,000 employees. Twenty-one companies on the list are based in Pennsylvania, with the highest-ranked being Penn Medical of Philadelphia, which came in sixth.

There are at least 49 careers that pay on average $100,000 or more in Pennsylvania, according to career site Zippia. The website, using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, recently compiled a list of the 100 highest-paying jobs in the Keystone State. The top 25 jobs on the list are listed below.
