  • Career Assistance (in PA)   - lists jobs, workshops, job fairs, etc. You can post your resume here as well.  The site also posts lists of resources if your are struggling.
  • PA Career Link.com - takes you right to assorted job offerings in the state of PA; jobs are sorted by region; also offers services such as career counseling and assessment, training, and resume building.
  • Here To Help - get information about finding a new job, health insurance options, food and utility assistance, personal finance information, etc.
  • Way to Work - an initiative in PA funded through the federal stimulus program to put 20,000 people to work at jobs that pay up to $13/hr.  When the funding runs out, this program will go away, so check soon.

Upper Main Line Y assistance

If you are looking for some fun things to do with your family but don't have a lot of money to spare - you might consider joining the Upper Main Line Y in Berwyn.  If you apply to their Y Cares program and qualify for assistance, you can then join the Y and have access to all the pools, tennis courts, etc. etc. for just a little over $20/month.  This is a great way for a family to have fun together for almost no cost.

Additionally - if you qualify for Y Cares assistance you can also become eligible for reduced rates on day care, preschool, and many of the summer camps.  It is very important that you fill out your Y Cares application as soon as possible because the pool of money in that program will run out.  You can print out a copy of the Y Cares application on the UMLY website at  http://www.umly.org/UMLY/UMLY_YCARES.asp.  Get that filled out and submitted right away!
