ABOUT T&E CARE

The mission of T&E Care is to maintain a network of people providing financial and other material assistance to persons in need in and around the Tredyffrin and Easttown township area.

THANK YOU FOR VISITING T&E CARE!  We look forward to your support!  Sign up to help us out, offer a donation, support some of our programs, or join us at an event (see below).  You can also follow us on facebook!  We have it all!

NOTICE!!!!

ASSAULT AT YANG'S FARMERS MARKET

As you may be aware, Mr. Yang from Yang's Farmers Market in Berwyn was brutally attacked on January 17, 2012, and money was stolen from him.  He suffered severe damage to his left eye that so far is leaving him blind with a hope that in 3-6 months his retina repair will "work" and he will be eligible for reconstructive surgery to maybe get his eye sight back (his retina detached, his cornea was shattered as well as his lens and other complications with the eye from being punched in the face).  The two young men were caught  and confessed that they were staking him out. His part in his business is to drive to Philly and Lancaster and other food market suppliers and bring heavy boxes of product to the store and set up.  He is now unable to drive or lift heavy boxes so his future and the future of his business is in question.  More importantly, he only has medicare coverage with out any supplement coverage and we expect his medical bills to be large.  So far Kim Davis at Sweet Jazmines and Stacey Ballard at Eadeh Enterprises are raising money by asking for local businesses to donate to help Mr. Yang offset his medical costs that he has and will continue to have.  They are also working on a fund raiser of some sort to involve the community but the details aren't concrete yet. (Check back here - if one is set up we will post the information.)

If you would like to help out, you can make a donation to the Yong Yang Recovery Fund and drop it off or send it to Yang's Farmers Market (573 Lancaster Ave, Berwyn), Sweet Jasmine's Bakery (15 Bridge Ave, Berwyn), or at Eadeh Enterprises (511 Old Lancaster Rd #8, Berwyn).  If mailing, the zipcode for all 3 locations is 19312.

SPECIAL NEEDS FOR LOCAL FAMILIES

If you have the ability to help with any of these VERY important needs for a few of our local families - please let us know.   The power of "community" can make the impossible possible!

Assorted items:
Nothing specific at this time.

Baby Items:
A triple stroller has been requested.  1/28/12

Appliances/Furniture:
Please contact us if you can help with any of these:

1/5/12 - a family needs a stove

Clothing:

 None needed at this time.

Cars:

(See Donating Cars and Services page for more information.)
We know of a numerous local families who are desperate to get a "new" car.  Some of these families currently have cars, but the cars are FALLING apart and unsafe to drive.   If they lose the car, they lose their jobs.  They can't pay their rent without getting to work.  The cycle begins.  Getting a "new" car will stop the tailspin before things get out of control. Some families RIGHT IN OUR AREA have no car and this is limiting their housing and job options because they can only look for housing and jobs on a transportation line.   If you have a car that works well that you would like to sell cheap or donate to a local family, please let us know. We will work with you on applying for a tax deduction for this donation.  This would be a great opportunity to get a special tax deduction while truly changing a family's life.

If you can help out with anything requested on this page - please email us at help@tecare.org.   THANKS!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart and may you have a blessed New Year.
  • First I want to say THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! Once again TE CARES has made this Christmas a dream come true. Unfortunatly this year is just as rough as last year finacially but with the help of EVERYONE in the TECARES org. I was able to give my children a Merry Christmas. He wants me to have two tests . One I had done yesterday and the other can not be done until next Thursday I am out of work until I see him again . I hope you have a wonderful holiday !! Thank you so much for making this
    holiday easier on us.
  • I hope the holidays are  full of  joy and happiness for you and yours!  You and all the TE~Cares made our Hanukkah so wonderful. We can't tell you how grateful we are and how our hearts are full of joy!! Thank you for the beautiful kindness!! Have a Healthy and Happy and Peaceful  New Year!!
  • There's a tune in my head from one of my favorite movies, White Christmas, I think it's appropriate for the folks at TEcares, it goes like this... "If you're worried and cannot sleep, just count your blessing, in stead of sheep- and you'll fall a sleep counting your blessings..."

TEcares has been a constant blessing to me, the house where my family lived was affected by mold & mildew from hurricane Irene, we had to move. Many sleepless nights I worried and didn't know what to do. Sometimes we let pride get in the way and you try and try to manage on your own. What I've learned in life, there's people who honestly want to help, all you need to do is reach-out to them  I reached out... TEcares grabbed my hands and led me out of despair. I believe in Angels, they really are all around us! My sincerest thanks to TEcares for all you've done for my family.  Merry Christmas and all the Blessings for a Wonderful New Year!
  • I just wanted to say Thank You again for the food and gifts. This couldn't have come at a better time. I hope you and your family have a happy and blessed Holiday.
  • We received the card and presents today for the kids from TE Cares and wanted to say  Thank You.  We really appreciate it.   Have a wonderful  holiday and Merry Christmas.
  • This is greatly appreciated! Have a wonderful Christmas!
  • Thank you for remembering us with the Christmas donations.  The ladies came last night and delivered the presents.  they were so kind.  We are so grateful for the blessing you bestowed upon  us.  It really helped out. Please forgive me for sending an electronic thank you for something so personal and special. There are no words to say how appreciative we are that you thought of our family.  Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.  May your Christmas season be as joyous as the joy you have brought to so many.
  • THANK YOU!  My family and I pray you, and yours, have a Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!  I look forward to connecting with you for more budgeting support in 1/12.  Have a great day today!
  • We'd like to thank you again for delivering the presents to our home. We're sorry we couldn't all be there to receive them, but our daughter said wonderful things about your visit. We really appreciate what T/E Cares does for families like ours.  Thank you so much and Happy Holidays!
  • I just want to say thank you for all the gifts! we didn't open them yet but they look amazing!

Making a donation to T&E Care in lieu of a gift

Are you struggling to think of the perfect gift for the person on your list who has everything?  Consider making a donation to T&E Care in his/her name?  This option is always available - at the holidays or anytime of year.  Information on making donations to honor others can be found on our donations page.  A letter will be sent to your recipient alerting them of your kind donation (or we can send a card to you for you to wrap and give yourself).

Thanks for considering this option.
