T&E Care Holiday Program 2011

The 2011 Holiday Wish List!
CONGRATULATIONS!  WE ARE OFFICIALLY FINISHED AT THIS TIME!  We'll leave the link open for a few days in case you need to reference your donation.

As in 2010, this year our list includes many families in the area who could use help getting presents, gift cards, and food for the holidays.   Times continue to be difficult for many!  The local churches are doing programs for some families - and we are coordinating our efforts so we don't duplicate support.  We are working with one church for certain gifts as you will see on the wish list page.  It's hard to imagine how some families we are working with can get up and face each day - things are really tough for some of them.  We obviously are going to need a lot of community members to help out in order to make this drive a success.  Please consider helping in any way you can.  We will update the list as often as possible, so you will know which wish list items are still needed.    The most updated list will always be the list directly on the website.

Please note the following:
  • Feel free to "claim" an individual item, a specific person, or a whole family.  Any amount of support is helpful.
  • To avoid duplication of donation offers, do not go shopping for a specific gift item without first checking with us to confirm the need.   Anyone can get items like food, cleaning supplies, or gift cards - as we can always find a home for them!
  • If you can wrap gifts that would be very helpful.  But PLEASE LABEL each item so we know what it is.  We need to be able to confirm that all items have been received. (Label with your name AND the item so you get the appropriate thanks note as well.)  NOTE:  certain gifts on the list should NOT be wrapped.  See actual gift list for more details on these.
  • If you sponsor a whole family please put together a list of what you have given, including any gift cards.  This way we have a proper list with which to thank you, plus we know if your donations include extra items and/or gift cards.  (We give every family some gift cards- so if you already included some, we may not need to as well.)
  • We have attached below a form you can download and include with your donations - this form will help us keep track of all the gifts!.
  • Because it is the holidays, we would prefer to have new items when possible.  If you have any GENTLY used items for specific requests, please contact us before dropping off a donation.
  • Include gift receipts when possible - especially for clothes.
  • For "food basket" requests - please give basic food items - we are not asking for specialty items.  And a box or bag (reusable bags are great) of food is fine - it doesn't really need to be in a basket!  Try to avoid lots of canned vegetables and soups - those are not very healthy and many of the families would prefer to avoid them.  Other non-perishables to suggest are:  peanut butter, various juices (esp if there are kids), cereal, spaghetti sauce, things like flour/sugar/spices, olive oil, etc. These things add up quickly and make food taste lots better!
  • Gift cards are a great help for many families.  Many of the older kids really want to buy their own clothes, and sometimes the mom and/or dad want to pick out their own presents for the kids.   Gift cards for food or gas are VERY helpful for many families.  Any gift cards can be mailed to:  Lisa Christy, 1395 Wisteria Dr., Malvern, 19355.
  • The deadline to drop off items is Sunday, December 11.  (Drop off locations are below.)
  • Contact Lisa Christy at holidays@tecare.org with any questions or to offer a donation.
Thank you again sooooo much for any support you can offer!
