T&E Car Care Program Donating services to keep cars running safely!
T&E Care tries to help families who have come to us with a request for assistance. Because we cannot be a regular source of financial help
for them, we work with families to get past their current hurdle and become
self-sufficient. For some families, that hurdle is simply the need for a
reliable car that can get them back and forth to work. We are asking local automotive retailers
and repair shops to join our program that will address
this simple need. For some
families, auto maintenance or auto repairs are luxuries that are low on their
list of their priorities, especially when food, clothing and paying utilities
hold such importance.
If you have a connection with a local auto retailer or repair shop - we are
asking for your help!
Specifically, we are asking for donations any number of services that
will help our families maintain an automobile so they can be assured that they
will have a reliable way to get back and forth to work to earn a living. Even one donation per business per year would be a HUGE help!
We
are seeking
donations of oil changes, automobile inspections, or free or discounted
automobile
diagnostics and repair. Additionally - now and then local community
members offer cars to T&E Care for local families - we'd like to give these cars a
quick check-up before handing them over to a family. Could you donate
one of these automobile check-ups? T&E Care will keep track of
these offers of help, and then we will distribute them as we learn of a family needing this help.
Can we count on your support?
Please contact Bill or Hal at car@tecare.org to tell us how you can help us out.
THANKS!!

Please join this list and help out a local family. No offer of support is too big or too small!

Donating a Car
Over and over we learn of difficult family situations made even more complex because of transportation problems.
- How can a family improve its situation when a family member can't get from home to a better job, because he/she has no car?
- What happens when the rent is raised so high that the family needs
to move, but the dad walks to his current job because they have no car?
- How does a family get to the food bank to get food when they have no car? How many times can you ask a neighbor for a ride?
- What happens when a family's car is so old that it is constantly in the shop, which means they have no way to get to work?
- Free medical care is offered at a great clinic in West Chester, but if a family has no car - how do you get there?
Owning
a car in this area is not a luxury - it's a necessity. Public
transportation is not easily available unless you are going to
Philadelphia, and even then you need to get to the train station. To
get to a job - you need a car or you need a ride. While rides and
carpools are the ideal for our environment, we all know they aren't
easy ways to get to work. Your ride has a schedule change - and you
miss work. You miss work, and ....... You know the routine.
If you have a car that you no longer need and it still works well, let us know if you’d be willing to offer it to a family. We can get you the proper papers for tax purposes. This can truly be a way to change a family's life. If you can't afford to donate the car but would be willing to sell it to us at a discount - that might work as well. We can help with the family's financing and make this happen. Thanks for considering us!
Transportation
is a HUGE problem for many families that, at least here in Tredyffrin
and Easttown, we should be able to address, if not solve! Please contact us if you can help with any of these requests. THANKS!!!!

Donating Insurance
Since starting in 2005, T&E Care has helped out a number of families who ran into incredibly difficult situations, indirectly
related to non-payment of car insurance, because they just ran out of
money. Because of confidentiality reasons, the problems can't be explained on this website - but they are real! Again - if YOU can contact your local agent and see if
he/she would be willing to offer some assistance for the car insurance
payments - that would be great. If every local agent offered just one month of free insurance a year - what a big help that would be!
