If you have to decide between spending your money on food, heat for your home, gas for your car so you can get to work, or clothes, the last thing to get funded is usually clothes.  "What I have can last for a few more days."  Sometimes we have specific requests for families who have determined that they just can't wait any longer, but they still don't have the funds to buy new things.  If you can help out with any of the requests below, that would be great.

Clothing needs

See home page for list of any needs.

CLOTHING AND ACCESSORY DONATIONS
At this time we do not have the ability to store clothing or other similar items. If we have posted a need for such items - then please help out if you can. Otherwise - either save your items for a future drive, or donate them to another local group. Some options include:
  • Wings For Success - this is a non-profit located in Frazer that collects women's clothing and accessories to give to low-income women needing nice clothing for job interviews, etc. It is an incredible group that does wonderful things to help out area women. They will take good clothing only - no jeans, sweatshirts, t-shirts, etc. Remember that they are trying to help women get back into the job market. Nice shoes and accessories are also appreciated. Larger sizes are especially useful. Contact them at info@wingsforsuccess.org or call 610-644-6323 to make a donation.
  • Gaudenzia - Gaudenzia helps people affected by chemical dependency, mental illness and related conditions, to acheive a better quality of life - allowing them to live as productive and accountable individuals. They collect men's and women's business clothing for their clients, to wear on interviews for jobs. If you have any clothes you'd like to offer (remember, they should be in good condition and of business quality), contact ptcaremccarty@verizon.net.
  • The Trading Post - retail consignment store; proceeds from items sold go to Fox Chase Cancer Center; located on Lancaster Ave in Paoli
  • The Palm Tree - retail consignment store; proceeds for items sold go to Paoli Hospital; located near Burger King in Paoli, 610-647-2775
  • Goodwill - located in Berwyn on Lancaster Ave., call 610-644-2533 for information
  • Plato's Closet - 27 Paoli Plaza (near train station), 610-647-7788; 10-7 M-F, Sat/Sun hours, too; They accept gently used clothing and accessories for young adults (no children's clothing); they prefer top-name brands, cool, hip, and trendy; must be clean. You drop off clothes and they decide which they will buy from you. Typically they buy items that have been in the retail stores within the past 12 to 18 months.
  • Impact Thrift Stores, Inc. - at 57 E. Germantown Pike in E. Norriton, call 610-239-9848 for details; they accept good condition used clothing, furniture, appliances, etc. See the website (www.impactthrift.org) for items they accept and do not accept; they have drop-off hours, and will come pick up large items of furniture (This is a good option for buying used items as well!)
  • Second Mile Center at 215-662-1663 (In Philadelphia at 214 S. 45th St - will pick up furniture, clothes, appliances, etc; usually needs a couple weeks of lead-time.)
  • The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Philadelphia - will do home pick-ups of furniture, clothing, and housewares - call 215-288-9540 to schedule one.

PLEASE, all donations of clothing and accessories should be in decent shape. No torn or dirty clothing and no broken items accepted. Please indicate sizes and styles of clothing if a donation is to be made to us. Contact us at help@tecare.org with any questions.
